FP Modem-56k Unit

Safe, easy and cost-effective M2M communication

The FP Modem-56k unit expands the number of communication alternatives available to FP series PLCs, e.g. dial-up, dedicated/leased line and multidrop network communication. If the PSTN supports text message service, the PLC can even send and receive short text messages.

A Windows driver allows the FP Modem-56k to be used together with various Windows software, such as OPC, SCADA, etc.

Enjoy the plug & play convenience of FP Modem-56k to facilitate modem communication between PLCs or between your PLC and PC.

Outstanding features for industrial telecontrol

  • Extremely compact
  • Operating voltage 24V DC
  • Attachable to a 35mm DIN rail
  • Maximum line speed of up to 56kbit/s
  • Leased line mode (pier-to-pier) up to 20km at 33.6kbit/s
  • Multidrop leased line mode according to V.23 at 1200bit/s

FP Web-Server & FP Web Expansion Unit

Worldwide communication

The FP Web-Server module connects all FP Series controllers to the Ethernet. No changes to the PLC programs are necessary. Simply assign an IP address to the FP Web-Server and connect the PLC to the FP Web-Server via the serial RS232 interface. A standard browser, e.g. MS Internet Explorer, Firefox, Opera, Safari or Chrome, can be used for access at the PC. The HTML page can be created with common tools such as Eclipse (platform-independent development tool), Microsoft Expression Web or a text editor with syntax highlighting.

FP Web-Server advantages

  • Uses existing Intranet, saves wiring
  • Uses standard browser, saves Scada software
  • Remote control
  • Remote monitoring
  • Remote programming
  • Alarm information via e-mail
  • Data logging (with FPWEBEXP)

Configuration Software: FP Web Configurator Tool

Our Windows-based program helps you easily set up and configure the FP Web-Server, e.g.:
  • Automatic integration of PLC data into HTML pages
  • Preparation of pre-stored e-mail addresses and texts
  • Internet dial-up and e-mail server settings
  • TCP/IP address and parameter changes
  • Passwords and security setup
  • IEC 60870-5 parameters and modem settings
  • Configuration of all other available functions
Using the Internet or Intranet (Ethernet LAN or WAN)
The PLC connects to the FP Web-Server via RS232C (or USB/RS485 using the FP Web Expansion Unit) and MEWTOCOL; the FP Web-Server uses an Ethernet (10Base-T / 100Base-TX) connection to access the TCP/IP network.

Using a dial-up network
The PLC connects to the FP Web-Server via RS232C (or USB/RS485 using the FP Web Expansion Unit) and MEWTOCOL. A modem is connected to the second RS232C of the FP Web-Server. The modem can be dialled up via telephone line. The modem can also be used for Internet dial-up, e.g. to exchange data and to send e-mails .

Combinations: LAN plus dial-up gateway
Any combination of the above LAN and dial-up concepts is possible, e.g. an Ethernet network connecting several FP Web-Servers and an additional FP Web-Server initialized as a gateway for dial-up connections into the Internet.

Application examples:
  • Visualization and remote control via HTTP/HTTPS:
PLC data can be presented as HTML pages
  • Control FPWIN Pro remote programming via TCP/IP:
Programming and monitoring access via Ethernet with and without VPN tunnels
  • Alarm sending via e-mail:
Predefined alarm messages can be sent to a user (optional via Internet dial-up)

FP Web Designer

FP Web Designer is an easy-to-use editing tool used to create Web sites for visualizing process data collected by FP Web-Server. No programming knowledge for HTML, PHP, JavaScript or Java is required! Graphic libraries help users with their design work.
Features of FP Web Designer
  • WYSIWYG (What you see is what you get) editor for graphic design of applications
  • The designed pages can be called up by a Web browser on any PC connected to a LAN or WAN. All process values are shown automatically on the screen.
  • Each diagram can display up to 5 trend curves for measured values stored in PLCs. A simple mouse click updates the page.
  • The measured values together with trend curves can be stored as CSV files.
  • Alarm information can be visualized on a Web browser and saved. Updating alarm information runs in the background so that Web pages always display the current status in the browser.
  • The Web pages in the browser can be password-protected to prevent unauthorized access and changes.
  • Process values can be imported in CSV format from PLC programs written with FPWIN Pro
  • Extensive and expandable macro libraries available
  • Online help in English and German
